Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian American Studies.  As an undergraduate student,

She attended Southwestern Law School graduating with a
Juris Doctor in 2006.
Cheryl was recipient of a Writing Achievement Award for the 2003 Intramural Moot
Court Competition.  While a law student, she gained valuable experience as a law
clerk with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office and the Alliance for
Children's Rights.

Cheryl was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2007 after passing the State
Bar Examination on her first attempt. She has been admitted in all California State
courts, as well as Central and Southern California U.S.  District Courts.

Cheryl Deptowicz-Diaz is the daughter of Filipino immigrants, married to a
Mexican immigrant, and an immigrant herself.  She believes that these personal
connections allow her to better understand and be supportive of her growing
community of clients who are traditionally treated as outsiders in the legal process.
