Introducing Janyfer Deptowicz: Your Compassionate Legal Assistant and Advocate for Justice

Meet Janyfer, one of Diaz Law Firm’s legal assistants. Her journey has shaped her profound understanding of the challenges many of our clients face, making her one of our trusted advocates for justice and support.

As the youngest of five children, Janyfer experienced the reality of immigration, coming to the United States when she was just 8 months old from Manila, Philippines. Growing up, Janyfer witnessed her immigrant parents’ relentless efforts, working multiple jobs to make ends meet.

When she was just 13 years old, a close family member was confronted with legal challenges. Having to keep the matter private out of cultural and familial duties to prevent shame or embarrassment, left a profound and lasting impact on Janyfer.

Moreover, as a survivor of abuse and violence, Janyfer has developed her own unique set of morals, values, and principles that help her relate genuinely with our clients going through difficult legal troubles and looking to build a better life of peace.

Janyfer particularly enjoys her work in family law as someone who knows what it is like when a marriage no longer looks like the love it was on your wedding day. Having gone through different forms of abuse as well as financial abuse, Janyfer aims to help our clients build their new life and safeguards for the most vulnerable members of the family, the children.

Janyfer’s life and work experiences fuel her deep desire to help those who feel unheard, forgotten, silenced, and in need of support during vulnerable times. Her work history spans various industries, from teaching and behavioral education to social work, medical office administration, and now, as a legal assistant.

Janyfer is a single mother raising three children, ages 24, 19, and 15. She resides outside of California in a home she fills with love alongside her two younger children, 2 dogs, and 5 cats. She enjoys taking pictures and preserving memories.

At Diaz Law Firm, we are privileged to have Janyfer as one of our legal assistants whose superpower is effortlessly connecting deeply with our clients, providing them with the guidance, support, and advocacy they deserve.
